Penn State finishes non-conference play

The Nittany Lions were in action this weekend, finishing up their non-conference play before facing Big Ten foes.  There were mixed results.

The Penn State men's team, currently ranked at No. 62, were at the Blue Gray Classic in Montgomery, Alabama, last week.  Though they fell in the first round to No. 44 Oklahoma State and No. 61 Harvard, they came back in the final consolation match for a win over Middle Tennessee State.  The Nittany Lions came back from losing the doubles point and took the first four singles point for the 4-1 victory.  Next up is Ohio State on March 28th, a match played on the Buckeye's home court.

The unranked Nittany Lion women faced a tough Princeton team. The Tigers, who are currently ranked at No. 32, swept in singles and doubles, though Penn State did push them to three-setters in half of the singles matches.  The women have a chance to regroup as they are off until April 2nd, when they will face Iowa at home.
