Northwestern women and Ohio State men still up for ITA Indoors title

There's still a Big Ten team in contention for titles at both the men's and women's ITA Team Indoor Championships as the Gators went down in Wisconsin and Virginia.

Defending champion Northwestern got one step closer to repeating at the ITA Women's Team Indoor Championship  at the University of WisconsinJust like last year, the Wildcats had a tough quarterfinal that came down to the final match, with Elena Chernyakova saving the day when she took out Claire Bartlett, 4-6,7-6,7-5 at No. 6 singles.  Next up for Nortwestern are the NCAA finalist California Bears.
Top-seeded Duke and North Carolina will face off in the other semifinal.  On Saturday, the Blue Devils eliminated Southern California 4-2 while the Tar Heels advanced over Baylor, 5-2.

Ohio State
is moving toward their first national championship at the University of Virginia, where the ITA Men's Team Indoor Championship is also into the semifinals.  On day two, the Buckeyes squeezed past the Florida Gators, after coming back from a 3-0 deficit.  With the match down to No. 4 singles, it was Shuhei Uzawa who sealed it with a win over Bob van OverbeekOhio State is up against No. 2 Virginia in the semis.  The home team shut out Georgia (4-0).  The other Sunday matchup is No. 8 Texas vs. No. 5 Tennessee.  The Longhorns upset the top-seeded Southern California, 4-2, and the Volunteers blanked No. 4 UCLA.
