Buckeyes sweep Big Ten Players of the Week awards

February 10, 2010
The Big Ten honored two from Ohio State as this week's Players of the Week.

Kristen Flower
picked up her second Big Ten Player of the Week award (the first was in March 2009) after leading her team in No. 1 singles through three victories.  The senior defeated all of her singles opponents in straight sets. The lady Buckeyes are having one of their best seasons to date, sporting a 8-1 record.  They have a week off before meeting LSU on February 17th in a home match.

Sophomore Chase Buchanan, who is now playing No. 3 on the Ohio State lineup, took his first ever Big Ten Player of the Week award.  The Ohio native has helped the Buckeyes continue their undefeated season.  This past weekend he defeated two higher ranked players, No. 36 Clay Donato of North Carolina and No. 90 Bassam Beidas of Pepperdine.  The Ohio State men are on their way to the University of Virginia for the ITA National Team Indoors, which begins on Friday.
