While the women's award went to a Hawkeye, this week's Big Ten Men's Player of the Week Award was split between rivals Illinois and Ohio State.
Illini Dennis Nevolo earned his fourth weekly award (the first this season) after the sophomore had a 4-0 weekend, despite having just returned from illiness. Nevolo had straight set victories during his team's wins over Texas A&M and Northwestern.
Ohio State Buckeye Chase Buchanan is making a habit this season of picking up Player of the Week Award . This is the sophomore's third accolade for the season. He earned this one after helping the Buckeyes defeated Texas A&M and Lousville. He also teamed with Dino Marcan to upset the No. 9 ranked Aggie team of Austin Krajicek & Jeff Dadamo.
Iowa's Sonjar Molnar earned her first Big Ten Athlete of the Week honor. She helpied the Hawkeyes beat Missouri and upset DePaul by winning both singles matches. Molnar also partnered with Merel Beelen for two doubles wins..
