Ohio State advanced to the semifinals for the second time in the program’s history (2009 was the first) with a tight 4-2 win over Baylor.
The match between the fourth-seeded Buckeyes and No. 5 Bears was close from the doubles as Ohio State took the point with a win at the deciding court two. The first two singles matches would be straight setters split between the teams before the real competition began after one singles win from the Buckeyes and two from the Bears would tie the score at 2-2.
The final two matches would continue for an eternity. Balazs Novak (pictured left) would finally take Julien Bley at No. 6 and soon after freshman Blaz Rola would clinch the victory -- after fighting off multiple match points. It would come just before Kike Grangeiro had a chance to pick up a win for Baylor.

The Buckeyes have not gotten past them. “Virginia really has had their way with us lately, in indoors the past few years and then in NCAAs a couple years back,” said Head Coach Ty Tucker. ”I think we are going to enjoy this one (win) for a few hours and then open up the old notes to see what we can do. We are very happy to be going into the Final Four."
