Wildcat Mosolova and Buckeye Kronauge take weekly honor

April 1, 2010
After dominating the Big Ten for the last few years, Northwestern makes only their second appearance on the women's Player of the Week list, but the men's list continues to be mostly Buckeye.

Wildcat junior Maria Mosolova has spent a lot of time ranked at the top spot of the country, but this year she's struggled to get to her current No. 11 ranking.  It looks like this is the start of getting back on track and the Big Ten has recognized it with her first Player of the Week accolade of the year.

This is the sixth award  Mosolova's  career and it was earned after she won   four straight matches. Her singles wins came over ranked  Katrina Tsang of North Carolina and Ellah Nze of Duke in singles.

Ohio State has claimed eight of the 14 Big Ten Men's Player of the Week awards.  This is the second one of the season (and fifth career) for Justin Kronauge.  The senior picked up four singles wins last week, leading the Buckeyes to wins over Georgia, LSU, Penn State and Cleveland State.
