Weekend Wrap up for Big Ten Men

April 19, 2010
t was a long weekend for the Big Ten men's tennis coaches as they faced some of their toughest -- and most important -- matches of the season.  Here's how it turned out:

No. 17 Illinois 6, No. 61 Penn State 1-Illini junior Abe Souza picked up his eighth consecutive win and took the team lead with 29 wins overall as his team defeated the Nittany Lions.

No. 5 Ohio State 7, No. 41 Indiana 0-
It was the Buckeyes 60th consecutive Big Ten win and they did it without losing a set.

No. 5 Ohio State 6, No. 17 Illinois 1-The Buckeyes are No. 1 in the Big Ten and they proved it by taking out the No. 2 Illini, with only Marek Czerwinski scoring.

No. 32 Wisconson 5,  No. 72 Iowa 2-The Hawkeyes pulled out two three setters, but it was too little, too late as the Badgers took control.

No. 72 Iowa 6, No. 53 Northwestern 1-
A day after the Badgers dominated them, the Hawkeyes pulled off an upset win over the Wildcats.

No. 25 Michigan 5, Purdue 2-Michigan, tied for No. 2 in the Big Ten with Illinois, held on tight to that spot by taking out the Boilmakers.  It will make things even more interesting next weekend when the Wolverines head to Champaign to face the Illini and settle the No. 2 position before the Conference Championships.
